TRADE MISSION TO PUERTO RICO | November 17th – 19th, 2015
The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Southeast (IACC) – Puerto Rico Chapter is organizing a Trade Mission to Puerto Rico in occasion of EXPO Puerto Rico 2015 (www.comercioyexportacion.com), an annual international event promoted by the Departamento de Desarrollo Economico y Comercio (DDEC).
The mission will include not only a visit to the Exhibition but also one-to-one business meetings organized by the DDEC, networking sessions, cocktails and seminars.
This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the business connections of the Chamber, to discover the fiscal advantages of establishing a business in the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and to meet potential business partners in the Island.

ANIMA DOMUS and CLEI, with INTERNI magazine, partner up to host Design & Art event on the occasion of Art Basel

On the occasion of Art Basel 2015, INTERNI (magazine of Interiors and Contemporary Design), ANIMA DOMUS (South Florida’s leading resource for contemporary luxury Italian furniture) and CLEI (Italian world leader in space saving luxury furniture collections) have joined forces to host a special Art Basel event at Anima Domus’ MiMo District showroom on Friday, December 4th, 2015 at 6pm. The cocktail evening event will feature a presentation by world-renowned Italian architect and engineer, MR. CARLO RATTI, as well as showcase artwork by Miami-based artist RAMON AULAR, who created several installations specifically designed for display at this Art Basel event in the Anima Domus showroom.
Marconi Naziazeni, CEO and founder of Anima Domus explains, “We are proud to co-host this event on the occasion of Art Basel and to be able to offer our South Florida public the opportunity to experience a merger of the senses between luxury Italian furniture design and art. CLEI’s space-saving furniture solutions are a work of art in itself, responding to modern demands for versatile and artfully designed collections”.
Carlo Ratti, the evening’s presenter, is a world-renowned Italian architect and engineer, who aside from his active and internationally successful architecture practice, teaches at MIT. Carlo is currently the Director of MIT’s ‘SENSEable City Lab’, a new research initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which focuses on studying and anticipating the changes in design of modern urban environments created by the use of digital tools. On the occasion of the Art Basel event, Carlo Ratti will be speaking on the topic of “The City of the Future” and how this relates to the design of contemporary spaces and furniture.
Ramon Aular, is a Wynwood-based Venezuelan artist who will have several installations on display at the showroom during the event. Ramon’s pieces were created especially for the occasion and the Anima Domus space. After relocating to the US, Ramon’s artistic career has spanned collaborations with known artists such as Jeff Koons in NYC and Mr. Brainwash at Art Basel 2010 and 2011. In 2013, Ramon was commissioned by Porsche to paint its Porsche Carrera on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
This jointly hosted event will bring together international members of the design, art and media world. Open discussion, cocktails and music, allowing for guests to explore the Anima Domus showroom while enjoying Ramon Aular’s art, will follow the evening’s brief presentation by Mr. Ratti. In attendance will be co-host of the event, Gilda Bojardi, Editor in chief of Interni and creator of Fuori Salone Milano.
Presentation of the project Signa Maris
For the first time the IACC is collaborating with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism of Italy for the project called Signa Maris, aimed to promote cultural and natural offerings of the Southern Italy via its ports, particularly those ports in the Regions of Calabria, Campania, Puglia (Apulia) and Sicilia (Sicily).
The project Signa Maris interprets the marinas located along the Italian coast as gateways to the territory, and invites tourists traveling by boat to avail themselves of the cultural and natural heritage within easy reach of any given touristic port.
Several presentations of the project are planned in different international cities by the network of the Italian Chambers in the World.
On Wednesday, November 4th the IACC will organize an event in an upscale Italian restaurant located in the prestigious luxury mall Mary Brickell Village in Miami in order to present the project Signa Maris to travel press and tour operators but not only.

The IACC presents in Miami Consorzio Vini Lugana DOC
The Lugana Tutelage Consortium has been pursuing its mission to monitor, defend and promote Lugana D.O.C. wines ever since it was founded in 1990. As a promoter, the Consortium also seeks to raise awareness and add value to the Lugana brand by participating to the most important national and international trade fairs, and by organizing events apt to educate and enhance the public’s recognition of the image and quality of Lugana wines.
Consorzio Vini Lugana will present their wines during two events that will be organized in Miami with the support of the Italy America Chamber of Commerce. On November 17th wine importers and distributors will be invited for a tasting of Lugana D.O.C. wines and food pairings at the Miami Culinary Institute in Downtown.
On November 18th atStrada in the Grove Restaurant in Coconut Groove will take place an event open to wine collectors and connoisseurs. It will be an unique opportunity for visit, meet, taste and smell the wines from one of smallest Italian wine regions, with a one and only indigenous grape: Turbiana. Lugana territory is located between Verona (Veneto region) and Brescia (Lombardy) areas around the south portion of the wonderful Lake Garda.
