Consorzio di Tutela del Primitivo di Manduria DOC, was born in 1998 starting with ten companies and obtained legislative recognition in 2002. It deals with the promotion, valorization, protection and supervision of Primitivo di Manduria and natural sweet Primitivo di Manduria in the world. There are about 3,140 hectares of vineyards that comprise the Primitivo di Manduria denomination and 18 municipalities between Taranto and Brindisi that produce Primitivo di Manduria.
